Backyard Dogs is a new hot dog shop converted from an old McDonald's restaurant. As you can guess by the name, hot dogs are the main thing. But they also serve gyros, philly cheese steak sandwiches, and a few other things. Their chili dogs are good, but nothing out of the ordinary you'd find around Youngstown. They make their own fresh cut french fries, but the order I got could have used another minute or two in the deep fryer. They were hot, but not crisp, instead limp and soggy. I'll have to try something else on their menu. But a meal under $2 for a dog and fries is a bargain these days, when a gallon of gasoline costs $3.
