This Ponderosa on Cable Rd. is the best steakhouse that I've ever eaten at, ever, ever. I need to explain myself more, ... Well, for one thing, it's located near the Lima Northwestern Business College, and all the bars near the school, up and down Cable Road, to either side, as well, near all the shopping malls on the west end of town, be it Westgate, Lima Mall, or American Mall.(That's why I liked it as a kid, anyway.) The Ponderosa, here, though, is in an unusually convenient location, and, a dinner at this Ponderosa can't be beat, not only for the price, but as well another reason to love the area. For the record, I usually order the Top Sirloin of the day, for a low bargain price of $5.99, all with the baked potato, coleslaw, applesauce or cottege cheese, A1 Sauce or HP, and all the salad I can eat, etc. etc. Honestly, roughly the cost of a pitcher of Bud Light at nearby bars. The real reason is, "Harry's Hideaway" (a bar where they sing Karaoke on weekends) is not far away along the same road, and beforehand, once I went to Ponderosa for a Steak dinner, and then on to Harry's. because- later, if I hit that bar nearby, I don't have to do so on an empty stomach. That's the true, honest, reason why I love this restaurant. I'm glad I chose this route, because at closing time that same night, I got stopped by a cop on the road, just outside the bar, for "not turning my headlights on", (they saw me coming), and I had to take a breathelizer test, -but I passed!. I mean, I'm telling you, I had drank down pitchers and pitchers of beer, and sang my heart out between orders, and I left in a total buzz, but something, something, (and I think it was all the food I'd eaten before), made me pass that test. Ponderosa on Cable Rd., you SAVED my LIFE, and I will always, always, love you for giving us other places and things to do with our money on Cable Rd. than just drink. I recommend this Ponderosa to any Northwestern Students or Barhoppers on Cable road. less
