Tonight, May 17, 2004, our family made an error in judgement by stopping at your location in Monticello, FL (Hwy 19 & I-10). The service was awful, only three other customers in the store and we were able to go to the restroom, read the menu about three times, with a young child with us, have our mind made up before the waitress ever showed up. Then she had trouble hearing us, she couldnt deal with the noise from the loud child two booths behind us, so we had to repeat our order several times. The drinks were brought about 2 minutes before our food was delivered by the cook. Only 2 other customers in the store at that time. We then had to ask for the remainder of the food that went with the Ham & Cheese Omelet, she forgot to write it on the order, so the cook didn't make it. When it was brought, the grits were almost cold. The omelet seemed to be made from egg beaters and my son almost got sick trying to eat the eggs and he loves eggs. We had to ask for ALL o ... more

The Ham & Cheese sandwich which I ordered since your company only cooks meat well done and I originally wanted steak...anyway they scared the bread with meat and cheese. To the point that the bread was not even covered with ham or cheese, had dry pockets in it. The hearty servings of fries, was downgraded to kids meal size. The triple burger that my husband ate was okay, he would have been happier with McDonald's. Now the store is down to only one other customer and we are trying to get the waitresses attention to get a refill on our drinks. Lost cause! Three employees on duty and only two tables to service. Our plates were never cleared until after we left, the cook was the only one that asked if everything was okay. The french fries and hashbrowns were the only thing good about the meal. My husband stopped me from commenting since I was in a rage over the NASTY food and the Crappy Service. What a rip off for a family of three to eat such a meal and to be charged $24.86. Needless to say, we left NO TIP. The waitress stared us down when she went to the table and said something, but we were outside and her body language told me it was not nice. I know that this is not the Huddle House Standard, I have eaten at many other locations and the food and service was great. I have worked in all aspects of the food industry and this has to be the worse encounter I have ever experienced. I did notice the help wanted sign in the window, I can see why and soon! less
