My advice: DONT GO THERE!
One evening in Spring 2005, I had a business dinner with my co-workers
at Brio at Stony Point Shopping Center in Richmond, VA.
I had a tiramisu for my dessert. In it, there was a piece of plastic. I
quickly let our waiter know. He didnt care less and just cleared my plate,
saying "Ok". Frustrated, I asked him to bring the manager
so that I can talk to him instead, then he agreed and disappeared for
good 40 min.
Since it was a business dinner, I did not have time to stay forever. So
I went to the back area in the restaurant where all waiters and waitresses
hang out and told the situation so I could talk to the manager right away.
Then one of the waitresses there went into the kitchen right behind
and came out with him.
Surprisingly, he seemed he had known what had been going on but just
decided to bother coming out to apologize. He said, "Oh. Go to
the front to remove your tiramisu from your bill" and even dared
to have said,
"Is t ...

The atmosphere was good, service was good, my company was very fine, the
coffee wasn't hot, but most of all the price was "NASTY"....My
first time eating at Brio was an "Eye Opener". A friend suggested
Lunch at Brio Tuscan Grille, Stoney Point Parkway. We both ordered
the "salad" lunch special, Shrimp/crabcake/lobster
mixed greens salad. A glass of wine each and I had the bisc soup. The meal
was tasty but the price was "NASTY". I am not usually shocked
at fine dinning food prices, but this was Lunch for two and it cost $71.32
plus tip. When I got the bill I thought it was a mistake. Our surver never
quoted us a price on the "lunch Special" I assumeing it would
be reasonable, but It was NOT. The two glasses of white wine were well
short of full, at a cost of $18.00 or $9.00 each. I detest abusive prices
at any establishment. Just imagine what the "Lunch Special"
for 4 would have cost???? $140.00 dollars/ plus t ...

My wife and I have been to Brio many times and typically have had fantastic
dinners. We don't usually go to any chain type restauratnts, but
this one really is a cut above. We like the wedge salad with one of the
pasta dishes (the Mediterranean pasta described in another review
is fantastic), though we occassionally get one of the steak offerings
and have never been disapointed like some of the other reviewers. Desserts
are great, but I'm usually too full to get them. Wait staff is generally
very personable and pretty good for this price range restaurant.
As far as the wait goes, we usually pick up a pager and walk the mall if
there is a crowd, or just eat in the bar. However, it is a smoking bar,
and one time we had two smokestacks come in and sit right next to us. Many
times, though, we have sat at or in the bar area and had great dinners
and enjoyed drinks while chatting with the bartenders. All in all,
a nice place to dine and hang out.

We dined at the Brio Tuscan Grille last night and had an excellent meal.
Our waitress Emily was extremely personable and took good care of us.
We enjoyed our bread and salad, and the onion straw appetizer we ordered
was delicious. My husband ordered penne pasta with marinara sauce,
which was not on the menu, and they were more than glad to accomodate
him. I had a penne pasta dish which I can't remember the name of,
but it had pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes, carmelized onions, feta
cheese in a garlic olive oil sauce, and it was just outstanding.
All in all, we would definitely go there again, though I can certainly
understand "Dave's" two star review - I would have
been upset with that evening too! In the end, we had to give the meal 5
stars for service, the great food and the pleasant atmosphere. (And
the bathrooms were spotless, as well.) We tried to do the online survey
but just couldn't seem to get to it. If anyone needs it, our survey
id number i ...

The atmosphere is great. The wait staff is great. The appetizers are
great. The salad is great. We went in at lunch time and did not have to
wait hardly 15min to get a table. The deserts are wonderful-you may
want to try the brio 3-deserts, it more than feeds 4 people. The special
shrimp/crabcake/lobster salad-was just wonderful-it was so fresh
and tasty-if you order the salad - you'll have room for desert.
The pork chop and mashed potatoes was very hardy also. It is a good place
to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. We were invited by a local couple.

The atmosphere is great. The wait staff is great. The appetizers are
great. The chopped salad is great. The desert is great. The Bistecca
strip steak was horrible. I ordered it medium and it came raw with the
blue cheese crumbled on it. Once it was cooked it was 50% fat and gristle
on one side and unedible on the right side. The right side you could chew
it for a while but never get anywhere close to where you could get it small
enough to swallow it. I had a huge pile of unchewable meat on my plate
when I was done...Sounds good doesn't it?

Although the atmosphere was nice, nearly every other aspect
of this restaurant was disappointing. First of all, our 5:30
reservation was not upheld. This was disappointing, not only
for obvious reasons; but also because we'd made our reservation
for 5 a few weeks in advance, as we had an event to attend at 8:00.
At the bar (while I waited), I found an inexperienced bartender,
who had a difficult time describing a wine. She left my glass well
short of full, or even reasonable, yet it was a $9.00 glass of wine.
Oh well, I thought...
When we were finally sat, our party of 5 was sat at a 4-top table,
with one of us sat in the isle! Our waiter was disorganized, and
impossible to hear over the blairing music. I was still hoping
on this experience turning around...

Our waiter took two turns to our table before getting to our drink
order. Once they were delivered, He left the table before we could
ask him to tak ...

Nice atmosphere, interesting (as in different and good) food
choices on the menu. Service was outstanding.
