A high-energy Japanese restaurant where chef-owner Katsu Imamura
graciously welcomes every patron as he works sushi magic at the
bar in back of the small dining room. The contemporary room features
black lacquered tables and chairs and exposed-brick walls.
The fare includes unique specials like asparagus in a thick sesame
paste, an outrageously tasty king crab leg sunomo -- a whole leg
precracked and served on beds of thinly sliced cucumber and pickled
wakame -- and Kenchin salmon filled with a fluffy egg mixture
then beautifully plated with asparagus tips, curly purple kale,
and red pepper strips.

Katsu was remodeled in 1997 and looks much more upscale then previously.
The food is still top notch.

Katsu is my favorite Japanese restaurant. The sushi is top
quality as are the other selections. As for atmosphere this
place is limited, but it is very clean.

Good Japanese food. A little bit too expensive if you order Japanese
beer and Japanese sake.

Weak, but pleasant environment. Smiling wait staff.
Really good, consistent food. No more pricey than
most Japanese. Good quality shashimi.
