First of all, I am reviewing "Zamora Bros Carnitas" located at 1503 Cesar Chavez and the Zamora Bros on Pico and Union in Los Angeles. Not to be confused with "Zamora Carnitas" on 4771 East Cesar Chavez or various other wanna be "Zamora's". <br> Zamora Bros has the best Carnitas I have ever tried anywhere, yes even in Mexico. One picks out the meat "al gusto" which means I get my tray, I pick my meat, I have it weighed, I grab some tortillas, "bolillo" french bread a la mexican great for tortas, I grab a fresh salsa, a Jarrito drink and some sweet bread for dessert and voila, dinner is served! <br> The best way to grab authentic Mexican food basics on the go, in and out in less then 5 minutes and back on the road ready to serve a warm, authentic meal for dinner that leaves everyone leaving their plates clean at home! <br> Also available on Pico and Union, Nopalitos (cactus salad so healthy and good, great for vegitarians, and so are the beans and the cheese available by the pound. <br> Zamora Bros on 1503 Cesar Chavez offers fresh meats, deli cuts, cheese, avocados, salsa, chicharrones, cesos tacos (aka empanandas) drinks, sweet bread and bollillo. <br> Zamora Bros at the corner of Union and Pico Blvd west of the Los Angeles Convention center in Downtown LA offers all of the above with a sit in resteraunt offering gizados for "here" or "to go, " produce, chiles rellenos, burritos and so much more. <br> Zamora bros, friendly quick service with a Gracias and a smile, and the best Carnitas you will have ever tasted! Crisy on the outside, juicy and tender in the inside. <br> Zamora Bros. founded by the great Chato Zamora from Irapuato Guanajuato himself. In business for over 35 years, located at 1503 Cesar Chavez and at the Corner of Pico Blvd and Union in Downtown LA. <br> Not to be confused with other stores containing the name Zamora in them. Zamora Carnitas is famous for its carnitas, double deep-fried choice pork. You pick your carnitas yourself from the heated display. You can also pick your own chicarones, fried pork rinds like no other. I'm not talking about the dried rinds you find in supermarkets, these are meaty and juicy. They also have the dry light colored variety which is good for cooking. <br> Zamora also has several other items available deli-style to go, including tongue, green chile pork , barbacoa---the origin of the word barbeque---which is barbecued goat, a gamey, an acquired taste. <br> Zamora also makes their own chorizo, which is a bit more spicy than store bought. Home made Menudo, available weekends only, is superb. <br> There is sit-down service, but Zamora gets very crowded on weekends so I take my order to go. You can see the lady at her comal making the thick hand-made corn tortillas. <br> Free parking at the lot at the corner of Chavez and Mednick. less
