Very good quality, old style italian restaurant in Highwood, IL, due north of Highland Park, IL. Excellent service. Lasagna is exceptional, with just the right amount of cheese. Chicken dishes are exceptional as well. <br> recommended

I have been eating regularly at this restaurant for at least 30 years. I have never had a bad meal, and I have never had bad service. The decor has not changed in those 30 years, and still looks just fine. It is unpretentious, unassuming, friendly, warm and welcoming. It simply serves delicious food. There are always special items not on the menu, and usually consist of a couple of fish dishes and an Italian entree. Several times a week, they serve cheese and spinach canneloni which are worth a long drive. It is still family run, and the proprietor is almost always in evidence. The wine list--something about which I know zero--runs to two fat volumes. For the area and the quality of food, it is reasonable, but not inexpensive.
