This tiny hole-in-the wall with the big sign is really a specialist
in southern cuisine, rather than bbq per se. I got the brisket,
and it was drowning in sauce and really, really tough, almost
impossible to eat. Where I come from (Texas) bbq and especially
brisket is slow cooked and smoked into tenderness - I don't
know what procedure Joe's was using but it needs work. Deep
south specialties like cornbread and collard greens are on the
menu though, so I might go back again sometime.

Joe started with one of those trucks and his food was loved so much
that he opened this place. Makes his own sauce and all that good
stuff. The prices are a bit elevated but the sauce is delicious.
Last time I went his cornbread was spoiled...it was not a good
experience. But, his ribs more than make up for anything else.
It is a tiny place so don't expect Tavern on the Green. Give
it a try.
