Bella Notte is a good place to take a date. It is in downtown Jackson. They have live music to dance to on most Friday and Saturday nights. Not a rock band but usually a sax player or some Motown sound. Something for a dining atmosphere. The food is good. They serve lunch and breakfast. The "pa-ni-ni" sandwich is a must have. It is a sourdough bun with your choice of meat (turkey, beef, etc) cheese, onions, tomato, bacon, etc. cooked open face till cheese melts, served with homecooked potato chips. At dinner I love the Medalions of Beef. Very tender slices of beef served with vegtable and smashed potatoes with a boiled down beef sauce over the meat that is excellent. Pizza is on the menu, but pizza with ingredents that you may have never had on a pizza. Chicken, carmilized onions, artichokes. I don't remember but strange stuff to try. The help is hit and miss.
