Simply the best Mexican restaurant in the Lawrence area, and one of the best in the NE Kansas, Kansas City area. The food is very good (I recommend ordering chicken instead of beef for the trditional entrees like tacos, burritos, enchiladas and the like), the service exceptional, while the ambience is admittedly hole-in-the-wallish. The chips and salsa are a real treat--in fact, I have yet to try any salsa as good as their hot and chunky variety (beware, it IS hot). They offer a number of relatively unusual choices, such as the spinach enchilda, which are all worth sampling. Next to Sol Azteca in KC, this is probably my favorite mexican restaurant.
