Although this establishment inherited a number of traits from its
sibling the Cheesecake Factory (large portions, varied menu), on
a recent visit with a group of eight, we found it less than pleasing experience.
In addition to all of the wasted food from the obscenely large portions,
about half of the entrees were either overcooked or of poor quality.
There are a lot better options in the area for the same money.

I LOVE this restaurant, and got a kick out of the angry person that just
gave it one star because they don't do large corporate reservations.
The decor is fantastic. There is usually a crowd when you enter, but
make your way to the stand and you'll get a vibrating beeper to let
you know when your table is ready. I go with my two sons for lunch on special
occasions, and I try to get there at 11:00 or after 1pm. If it's not
too swamped, I ask for a window seat and we are almost always accomodated
(though the wait has been a little longer). While we wait, we sometimes
go next door to the Marshall's and shop while we wait and the time
flies.
The Asian Chicken Salad is delicious, and the kids like a cheeseburger
or appetizer pizza. They don't have kids menus, but the servers
will suggest appropriate items for the kids. We always let them know
when we order that we want the Begneits (sp?) for dessert, like the famous
New Orleans fried donuts, served with t ...

This is a wonderful restaurant! Truly a nice atmosphere and a great

Reasonable food in a very convenient location on Michigan. We
haven't had problems getting in, getting served, or with
the food.

This restaurant does not care about customer service or working
with the customer. I plan 8 team outings a year with around 25 people
each and order delivery from different restaurants every week.
When I called this time, they couldn't accommodate my request
for a noon reservation because of rules (not availability).
Not only were they inflexible, they were also condescending
about the whole matter. They just lost all of my business and they'll
have me telling everyone at my company (900 people - in hospitality)
how rude and unaccommodating they are. Let's see... to start,
that is a loss of at least $450.00 just for denying my party on Wednesday.
I guess Mity Nice Grill gets my money.

As a link in the Cheesecake Factory chain, Grand Lux's global
menu offers similarly oversized portions and a dizzying array
of choices--jambalaya, Yankee pot roast and wiener schnitzel,
to name a few. Try cool Vietnamese summer rolls, kicky buffalo
chicken rolls, or spicy Santa Fe rolls. Order entrees at your
own risk: White pizza was bland with a limp, soggy crust; a burger
came with two unmelted slices of cheese slapped on top; and Asian
chicken salad skimped on chicken.

Great for Sunday Brunch as well. Ask for a window table, where
you can peer down on busy Michigan Avenue.
