I've been here twice for brunch, which is excellent - but of course there's always the super-long wait. Now that I've visited Rick and Ann's three times for dinner, I prefer the dinners. Each time we've been seated almost immediately in one of the cozy booths. <br> I love the amazing artwork that decorates the walls - it's always themed on whichever holiday is approaching, and though it appears, at first glance, as though it's the product of a third-grade class' crafts hour, a closer look will tell you right away that no children could have made such sophisticated and beautiful paper-plate Halloween pumpkins, or pop-up Valentine's. But although it's just as homey as Walker's Pie Shop, it's a bit less old-fashioned. There are far fewer senior citizens dining here on any given day. <br> All of the portions are extremely generous. My father commented that the Smoked Pork Chops that I ordered on my last visit looked "like a truck driver's meal". But I somehow managed to wolf down almost the entire plate, consisting of two enormous pork chops, a fantastic mixed fruit chutney, two sweet potato biscuits and sauteed greens and red cabbage. <br> So when you're feeling unusually hungry and need a taste of good ol' American food just like your mother never cooked, head on down to Rick and Ann's for a tummy-loving meal. <br> Recommended: Pear Gingerbread Upside-Down Cake with Caramel Sauce and Whipped Cream, Challah French Toast, Potato Cheese Pancakes, New York Strip Steak, White Bean and Sausage Soup, Pork Chops with Fruit Chutney <br> Avoid: - less
