We ate at Gabriel for my wife's birthday and in a word, dinner was superb. Chef Burrell sent out an amuse of the Crispy Tuna, wild mushrooms and a braised scallop for each of us. Jake started with the Mascarpone Ravioli with Roasted Wild Mushrooms. It was served with thyme butter and arugula. He then had the Saffron Tagliarini with Braised Artichoke, confit tomatoes, nicoise olives and lamb sausage. His next course was the Crispy Tuna with Roasted Shiitake Mushrooms, baby bok choy and sea urchin soy foam. His last dish (before dessert) was the Balsamic Poached Lamb with rapini, oven roasted tomato, goat cheese and black olive jus. <br> My wife started with the Chestnut Bisque with Pear and Blue Cheese Strudel. Teh bisque was creamy with a not overpowering taste of chestnuts. Excellent. She then had the Grilled Shrimp and Grits with Andouille sausage, haricot vert, lemon and tomato butter. A little disappointing. The small dishes are definitely the stars; the larger entrees often times have too much going on at the same time. Not very Latin or Spanish on the last visit. Service a tad inefficient as it got busy in the restaurant. Cigarette smoke wafts in from adjacent bar. Great place for singles looking for good food with casual atmosphere.

I am a brunch guy, and this brunch is one of the best in the city. The marscapone polenta is one of the most decadent things I've ever put into my mouth, and it's a brunch tradition. Great tapas buffet some weeknights and even better small plates on the menu. Try the Gambas (shrimp marininated in oil and spices). The juice is great to dip your bread in. Attentive, unobtrusive service, and damn good food. Highly recommended.

Located in the Radisson Barcelo Hotel near Dupont Circle. try the empanadas, fried calamari, or shrimp in garlic for appatizers. They serve tapas here and you can make a meal on just that. Entrees that I enjoyed were the baked rockfish, the shredded roast pork, or the bison burger. Very pretty restaurant.
