Great choices from seafood, fish, all types of meats, chicken, or the rodizio. Excellent calamari. You won't go hungry with any selection. The salad bar is a meal in itself but don't fill up before your dinner arrives. Great friendly service with the waiters being very attentive to you needs.

Here is my critique of the Rodizio at Seabra’s. The salad bar had few things that seemed appealing. I tried the smoked salmon, which was not that good. I didn’t want to fill up on a lot of salad anyway. The side dishes that came with the meal were not that great either. The black bean soup was hot, but I have had better at Chile ’s. I can’t see eating regular French fries, which was how they prepared the potatoes. The green vegetable looked liked seaweed. I like most green vegetables like broccoli, spinach (before the scare), and Chinese green vegetables. The “seaweed” was not flavored well, and not cooked enough. There was rice, but it was not the good tasting Spanish rice. The waiters seemed to have a race to see how many dishes they could bring to my plate. I like to take my time with small samples, but two from each skewer was more than a sample. There was too much fat on the steak and chicken, and one of the rib dishes was dried out. The cooked banana wa ... more

I've eaten at Seabra's on two ocassions, once in summer of 2005 and prior to that around Christmas time of 2003. Both times the food was fantastic. Of course, I had the rodizio on both ocassions. The meats were all prepared very well. The selections included chorizo, top sirloin, pork ribs, pork roast, turkey wrapped w/bacon, beef filet, beef ribs. There were even exotic meats served such as ostrich, alligator (tastes like chicken--but still very good), and my personal favorite--buffalo. I ate everything that was brought to the table and only asked for seconds on a couple of items. A hot and cold salad bar is included with the rodizio as well as a side platter containing generous helpings of fried plantain, beans, rice , fried potatoes, and a fantastic escarole sauteed with garlic. Drank red sangria with the meal it was tasty and refreshing and complemented the meal nicely. I am a big eater and I left feeling quite stuffed. One round of meat and a little salad b ... more

My name is Frank Afonso. As you can tell by my last name I'm Portuguese and proud to be one. I had a very important business dinner arrangement with some very important costumers at your establishment located at McCarter Highway. Being from Portuguese background, I thought it would have been appropriate to take our customers to have a taste of what Portuguese cuisine was all about. I have eaten the different types of the Portuguese ethnic food at your different facilities though the years, and, I must say that the experience I had on Monday, 9/26/05, was the worst of all. Starting with the bar service. This was the first time in my entire life that I found a Portuguese restaurant that had no Portuguese beer. I had asked for Super Buck or Sagres; then I asked for Becks, Bud, and Coors and the outcome was the same: You had NONE OF THEM AVAILABLE! Now let us describe your food service and selection. Aside from the fact that most of your selected meats had no di ... more

The iron bound section of newark is very well-known for its brazilian, portguese and spanish foods and I feel that this is one of the best (I've eaten at almost all of the restaurants in this area). The place is a small tucked away restaurant off the beaten track.

This Brazilian-style rodizio has a huge and beautiful salad bar and a hot food bar which includes soup, paella, fried bananas (delicious!), beans, potatoes, etc. Then, if you order rodizio, waiters come to your table with skewers of grilled meat, including various cuts of beef, pork, poultry and fish. They keep coming until you ask them to stop. Rodizio is $17.95 per adult. Full bar. Drinks, desserts and coffee are extra. Very child friendly. At one visit, they did not charge anything for two small children in our party, although they ATE!
