I love The Parthenon. It's the only place I've ever eaten in
Greektown, so maybe there are better, but I loved it the first time I
went so we always go back. Who can argue with the place that created flaming
saganaki??
The decor is very nice, nothing flashy but nice. The ambience is welcoming.
To compliment the ambience, I can guarantee that during the course
of your meal, you *will* hear "Oopah!" and plates crashing
at least once. The service is always efficient and friendly.
And let me tell you - the prices are right. We never order appetizers,
but there is a large selection priced from $2.25 to $8 which includes
a wide range of Greek favorites (cheese & olives, squid, octopus,
meatballs, saganaki, spinach & cheese pies, dolmades, etc).
There are several different soups and salads from which to choose and
the entrees are too numerous to mention. My husband always gets some
sort of lamb, or occasional gyros (which are one of their house specialities

The house wine is great. I have a tough time not ordering the chicken
spanaki-two chicken breasts stuffed with spinach and feta cheese.
It is absolutely to die for. You wil have a ball here. The atmosphere
is always a party.

Decent place in Greek town. Nothing exceptional, but everything
is ok. All the standard Greek-American stuff is there.

OpahHHH!
Great food in a fun environment. Not the best in Greek Town, but
the best known. Definitely stop by and ask for extra bread.

Best Greek food in Chicago! This place is teeming with atmosphere
and great food. The portions are all "Chicago-size"
and wonderful in flavor. You MUST get the Saginaki (flaming cheese)
it is not only wonderful to eat, it is a ball to watch being prepared.

I would sell my soul to the devil for an endless flaming plate of
their saganaki! A very charming atmosphere, with excellent
waitstaff. The flavors are unique, yet true to greek style cooking!
Bravo!

This place really has personality! The food seems very authenic
and overall tasty. THe flaming cheese appetizer was a great food
and a wonderful way to strike up a conversation with your dinner
date (not much is more stunning than tasty cheese en flambeau).
The only thing I had here that I didn't really care for was a lukewarm
soup that tasted like egg and lemon.

One of my personal favorites in Chicago. It's not pretentious,
but the service is excellent and the food is always good. The atmosphere
is relaxed and friendly. Any lamb dish will be wonderful.
