In every Texas town and city there is a place that stands famous
on tradition and longetivity. In Waco, this is the spot. Leave
the Interstate and head a little east and there you are. Great
homecooked style burgers-really great fries-outstanding
shakes-you won't pay much for a real dining experience. Pictures
on the wall recounting history and a talking trashcan round it
out. This is a piece of Texas

Don't let the name fool you. This is not health food. Think of the
stereotypical burger joint from the 1950's and that is Health
Camp. It has been in the same building since to fifties and not
much has changed since then. The walls are covered with pictures
of fifties cars and old black and whites of Waco, most are even
from before the tornado in 1953! The jukebox is always full of
the best in classic rock and country and the talking trash can
is a local character. Now, on to the important stuff:the food.
They have the absolute best burgers in Waco. But they are not that
big. Don't expect a half pound burger. You will, however, probably
want seconds. Want a shake? Be ready to make a decision, they have
about 15 different flavors and they are all great. Health Camp
is right on the circle, so it is easy to find. Visitors? Just ask,
everyone in Waco knows where the circle is. And don't forget teh
onion rings.
