Yes, Il Forno can be loud, the happy sound of contented diners,
the bustle of an open kitchen all combined with a usually full
dining room. The food is great at Il Forno! There are always lots
of choices, not just the base Italian fare. They are very creative
with their menu and the portions are huge, so expect to take leftovers
home to be enjoyed yet again. Check out the daily specials which
are available at their web site www.il-forno.com.

One of the best places to eat in the area and the best Italian. Whether
authentic Italian or not, the meals are freshly made, excellent,
the portions are enormous, and the menu has a good variety of lower
to higher priced fare. The location is also a BYOB restaurant,
so you may bring your favorite wine, mix your favorite drink,
or chug a beer alongside your fettuccini. The atmosphere is another
nice aspect, with an open kitchen, usually a packed house, white
Christmas lights strung about the dining area with greenery,
you feel more like you are on Newburry street in Boston rather
than at the end of Airport Rd. in Fitchburg. Take a trip down there
on a weekend night and you have a packed house with people hanging
in the breezeway and outside drinking wine and waiting to be seated,
it is theatre unto itself and makes you feel as if you really are
GOING OUT. I do wish they had dressings other than Italian and
creamy Italian, but I suppose I will live. One of my favorit ...

This place is indeed ver busy and loud. They have pretty good chow,
not real authentic Italian but if you don't have a discerning
pallatte you won't complain.

Get the seafood Il Forno. Excellent. Also great salad, homemade
dressing and garlic bread.
Very nice atmosphere and friendly service. Kind of neat how it
is a nice restaurant with a bring your own alcohol policy.
About a 30 minute wait on the weekends, but most of the good places
are like that, eh.

Very crowded at dinner - go at lunch on a weekday that you have off.
Dinner can be a long wait, and they don't take reservations. Also
NOISY at night.
The veal and pasta are great. I recommend the veal parmesan with
cheese ravioli.
No liquor license, but they will open your bottle of wine to be
consumed on the premises.
