While it looks like hundreds of other Chinese restaurants, with nothing special about the decor, the staff is especially nice and the clean food of unimpeachable quality. Many in the neighborhood rely on it for fast, dependable delivery service. If you dine inside there's unlimited wine or soda. Dishes are cooked with healthy canola oil, including shredded pork with garlic sauce, moo shu vegetables with thin pancakes, and chicken with fresh lemon sauce. Go to 1st Wok for a restaurant that dishes up a Chinese cuisine. Expect to pay $12 to $20 per person.

This is a chic restaurant with a fixed-price menu which starts at about $30 to go. If you want to sample good Chinese food without breaking the banks, this place is it. <br> The menu is a maze of top class Szechuan cuisines - lamb, spare ribs, chicken, mushrooms - lots of them, duck, fish, etc...The menu seems to go on & on. But the waiters will not hurry you to order. Just take you time. The prices really give you a lot of bangs for the bucks.

Along with the "Mandarin" at Ghiardelli Square in San Francisco, these are the two top Gourmet Chinese Restaurants in the country. Every dish is so filled with flavor, that you will want to return as often as possible! Here in New York City, Chef/owner Michael Tong is up on the "classic" and the "modern" cooking styles. Try the "Peking Duck", the shrimp dishes, and just about anything that "whets" your appetite. Beware that this is not your typical "neighborhood" chinese restaurant; prices are high. Still, for one of the two best Gourmet Chinese Restaurants in the country, this experience is worth it. Reservations needed. After dinner at the "Shun Lee Palace", you must try the "Mandarin" at Ghiardelli Square in San Francisco!
