This place is wonderful. Great selection of Italian food that
is well worth the price. Wonderful service and atmosphere. Great
place for a romantic dinner, or even to get engaged (like I did).

Having recently spent a long week-end in New Orleans to experience
the culinary opporunities, Irene's was the clear stand-out!
Wonderful food, precise service, friendly (a warm neighborhood
atmosphere), great drinks, and incredible value. Everything
was extraordinary. Irene's seemed to be one of the those restaurants
that the local diners want to keep for themselves.
My meal started with thick sliced tomatoes garnished with sauteed
and fresh onions served with the definitive balsamic vinegar
dressing.
My grilled red fish garnished with grilled jumbo Gulf shrimp
tasted even better that I could describe it. Wonderfully fresh
and prepared perfectly, done but not dry. The entree was accompanied
by a mixed corn medley and fried julienned Lousiana sweet potatoes.
And the bread pudding for dessert was divine.
If I lived in New Orleans, this would be a regular destintation!!

This is a hidden Gem in the French Quarter. Typical of an Italian
Restaurant Family, Irene's brother is the Chef/owner of "Faustos's
Kitchen" on Veteran's Boulevard in Metairie, and sister is the
Chef/owner of "The Brick Oven" in Kenner. "Irene's"
is so popular with its regulars, that reservations are a must,
and even then you may have to wait in the "garage"! Outstanding
chicken, veal, and pasta dishes, you will find yourself returning
often to "Irene's Cuisine".
