Excellent restaurant overall, good service, good food, nice inside
ambience. A little pricey for anyone with a small budget. All in all,
I highly recommend this restaurant.

When you walk through the front door, look straight ahead into the exhibition
kitchen -- chances are you'll be staring directly into the eyes
of owner/chef Robert Wiedmaier. He is firmly at the helm here, creating
French dishes that include nods to his Belgian training: duck breast
with baby turnips, rose lentils, and Calvados sauce, or venison with
ragout of winter mushrooms and Madeira sauce. Desserts usually include
seasonal tarts such as spring pear tart with raspberry coulis.
Marcel's, named after Wiedmaier's young son, occupies the

bar area. Marc ...

The service was gracious and attentive without being intrusive.
The food was simply inspired. This is indeed a very expensive
restaurant, but I certainly didn't leave feeling I'd
been overcharged; rather, I spent a lot of money for a superb dinner
that was worth it. One of the best restaurants in Washington.

Chef owned, the food is well presented and very good. The seared
scallops appetizer was wonderful. Very good wine list. I especially
enjoyed the grilled fish, the steak was cooked just right and
exactly as I requested. My son liked the buffalo. Valet parking,
good service.
