Service was quick and friendly. The salsa was watery, but not bad. The chicken fajitas were fine and plentiful, very quickly served. Overall, a typical Mexican experience.

My experience is somewhere in between the previous reviewers' opinions. I agree that the service was fine. I will say that the food was good but certainly not "write home" good. The tamale portion of my combination plate was actually better than average in my experience.

As the previous reviewer pointed out, this business is locally owned and operatied by Mexicans, the service is very good, and the staff is very friendly. About the food, I cannot agree. I have eaten a lot of Mexican food in many places and have worked in Mexican restuarants. This is not authentic Mexican food. It is Americanized Ameri-Mex and a shadow of what it could be. Chevy's is more authentic. And that bugs me because I wanted so badly for Guadalajara to be good and for the food to have the rich authentic flavors that Mexican food -- from whatever region -- has when it is at its best. We had chile rellenos, beef enchiladas, chile verde and soem other items that I don't recall right now. The chile rellenos were very greasy and had a "muddy" taste that made them inedible. The chile verde was "OK" but had none of the piquancy or spiciness that I expected. I'm not sure what was going on with the enchilada as it was ground beef -- which I had never seen us ... more

This restaurant is owned, operated, and ran by Mexican employees. They have brought authentic Mexican cuisine with a slight American twist to the classic little American hometown. The service is exceptional and the staff is extremely friendly, due to the quaint atmosphere. The language barrier of the broken English from some of the wait staff adds to the whole experience and romance of this eatery. A definate place to eat if in the mood for a laid back atmosphere and excellent food. And if you like sombreros, then you will definitely want to go there for your birthday. After dinner, enjoy one of there exquisite fried ice creams or cinnamon treats. -Enjoy
