The bread is what made them famous!!! Sheepherders, or the cheese breads (several flavors) are great. The best kept secret is that they have some of the best sandwiches on hiway 395. Worth the stop, except maybe on a holiday weekend when you can't get thru Bishop anyway.

AWESOME! Is the only word to describe the cheese bread or shepard's bread @ Eric's -I have been going there on the way to Mammoth or staying closer @ Bishop Creek Lodge for more years then I want to admit!

If you're on the way to Mammoth, make sure to stop here and pick up a loaf of fresh bread. Soft and large enough for an extra pillow for the hotel, oven-warm to keep you feeling rosy while on the slopes. Oh--they taste pretty good, too.

Great stop along the road to or from Mammoth. Try the cinnamon/raisin bread, especially great when it's still warm. These great big loafs are a lot of fun to bring home for family or friends.

Excellent bakery with a small area to sit after standing in lines to order sandwiches, coffee, etc. Although large, this place is predominantly a bakery with just a few places to sit. Think of it as a Bavarian-Swedish version of Western Bagel. It is, however, a very good bakery. There is no "service" per se. You stand in lines at the counters to order - get your food and then grab a table and sit down.

This is a place to go anytime but on a holiday weekend. The restaurant are really crowded and the same for the bakery when all the tourists are in town, but even then, the baked goods are well worth the wait and the crowd. Cant say much for their Sheepherders Bread...a bit bland, but the cookies and so forth are good for a snack on the road after you leave Bishop.

Well worth a stop. Famous breads and desserts set in a quaint bavarian decor. A good place to take kids after being in the car for 5 hours.
