The veggie combo is a staple for us beause it offers a range of tasty foods to try. We work in the area so we could be considered regulars here. The Injera is quite a sourdough and gives one a totally different take on what lunch can be like. The Berbere sauce has fantastic heat, a must for spicy food lovers. The Doro Alicha is great, lots of chicken pieces in a mildly spicy sauce. The Doro Wot is not as good as I felt the chicken legs were a bit small. I can highly recommend the Gomen be Sega, delicious collard greens with chunks of beef. One of the unusual features is the side salad which caught me unprepared. They use jallapeno peppers instead of bell peppers which can lead to quite a surprise if you load up your fork with the little green fellas. Very fresh and an excellent variety of distinct spicy tastes, without exceeding the spice pain threshold. Had a lamb berber, beef tips(?), and vegetarian assortment. Good selection of quality ingredients -- the lamb was tender, too. Good decor, slow but friendly service. Prices around $9/plate.

Excellent food! We went to Cafe Colucci because of this site. The food was very fresh and delicious - much, much better than the Blue Nile down the street, with a nicer ambiance. The staff was friendly and prompt. Many of the patrons appeared to be Ethiopian, which is always a good sign. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Background : My wife's family are from Ethiopia, so they have knowledge / taste of original Ethiopian fare. After visiting almost al the Ethiopian restaurants in the Bay area, this one seems to be consistent in its quality and offerings. We found their Injera to be fresh as compared to others. Staff is freindly and prompt.
