Cheap prices for the best Mexican food between Kansas City and Denver - this place can't be beat. Owned by the same family since it opened in the 60's, the Hillside has become a mecca for those in the area who love traditional Mexican food. Don't expect to find fajitas, chimichangas, or any "Tex-Mex" food that originated in the United States. This is your basic Mexican peasant food: tacos, burritos, and tamales, all handmade fresh every day. And don't even think of eating without an order of homemade chips and guacamole. If you are lucky, they will have fried ice cream for dessert. The place is small, with a capacity of maybe 45-50, and the atmosphere is definitely downscale, but you simply cannot find a better place to get your Mexican food fix. And don't forget the green sauce!
