Maui Community College has a Culinary Department. The Culinary
Department presents a preset menu. One member of our party has
special dietary needs. The course instructor said that would
be a challenge to the students. They presented this person a fat
free version of the menu, which included Mahi Mahi, salad and
a beautiful dessert. The tables were covered in snow white tablecloths
with royal blue napkins. Each table has a small vase with a flower.
The student waiter (his first day) served with a flair. The director
visited each table personally. They often have a alumni chef
from a local restaurant. The students are not allowed to accept
tips, but any tips that are offered are put into a fund to assist
the school with this program. Reservations are necessary.
It was one of the finest meals we have had in all areas.
