The food tastes so good, especially the appetizers like the corn pancakes and guacamole.

I agree -- great food, horrible service -- the restaurant seems understaffed (I haven't been ther ein a year, since I stopped going), and servers are in a hurry, almost sweating. The tables are really too close together, and as a patron, I feel like I've been stuffed into the backroom somewhere. If you get a window seat, some of the claustrophobia dissipates as you overlook the Gourmet Ghetto. The tapas are overall great -- I particularly remember the empanadas, which had just the right balance of flavors. The sangria, while not the best, is really good.

The setting is reasonably nice. We were on the upper floor, and had a partial view of the Berkeley hills. The walls were decorated with some South American art. Our main complaint was the service. After getting the food, we had to ask for silverware (since there was none on our table), and received no "Oh, sorry" or anything. In fact, after get ... more
