So-so....Food not great. Food was not as good as expected considering
$17-18 price range for entrees. At that price I would expect it to take
more than 8 minutes from ordering to food on the table. Food was edible
and NOT unhealthy, but not especially tasty.
I had Paprika schnitzel which was very thin piece of reheated schnitzel
with a watery sauce poured over it with a few pathetic bell pepper and
onion pieces mixed in. I had expected a schnitzel with a paprika coating
or at least a thick sauce, not watery, and a mound of peppers on top. Potato
salad was okay and sauerkraut was too vinegary and very unevenly shredded.
My wife ( who has an Austrian father) had the German Combo. She enjoyed
the sausages, everything edible but not exciting, pork chop probably
warmed up in a microwave. She also found sauerkraut sour with too much
vinegar and red cabbage too sweet.
Ambiance nice inside for a strip mall, could be spruced up outside,
old paving in parking lot. By restrooms tacky wood panel ...

This place is small and likely to be overlooked in a minimall next
to the freeway. It looks like a corner bar, but the menu is extensive
and the German food very well prepared. They have rabbit, elk,
deer and roast boar as well as the usual German dishes. The chef
was trained in Switzerland. On my last visit, I had a special-
duck with plum sauce that was outstanding. I highly recommend
the place. Many German and American beers on tap, also wines.
Friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
