I sent the following letter to the mgmt about our experience dining there. I have yet to hear from them. My family and I ate at your restaurant last night. Last time we ate at your restaurant was before we moved to Washington DC. Noodles was still on College at that time. We liked the decor and ambiance of the new place. We found it very pleasant. However, we were taken aback by the standards of service. Many small things were overlooked that made for a very lackluster dining experience. My wife is obviously pregnant. She was carrying the various supplies for the two year old toddler I held in my arms. The hostess did not offer to hold my wife's chair for her. Perhaps here in Fayetteville this is a now a norm. I don't know as we don't go out to eat that much since having the child and moving back to AR. We stood at the table as the hostess walked off and servers stood talking. The hostess did not offer or get a high chair for us. We had find and get a high chair ourselves. The first one we found had broken straps, so we couldn't use that one. The one under it had food on it that I had to scrape off before we could use it. After getting seated at the table, our server left the extra silverware set-ups. When our bread arrived we were not given bread plates. We had to get up and get these ourselves. Though we had to walk over and stand in front of wait staff to get our bread plates, no one apologized or even offered to help. With a toddler, bread plates can be a real convenience so we really appreciate them. I don't know if you had any specials available that night or not. We were not informed of any so perhaps you didn't - but I doubt it. No specific appetizers were offered. Rather our server merely asked if we wanted "appetizers or anything." Even though you had pepper mills on display, freshly ground black pepper, (something I really like on my salad) was not offered with our salad. When our entrees arrived, freshly grated Parmesan (or Romano or whatever you use) was not offered. We had to specifically request it. Even though the server told me I could say when I had gotten enough cheese on my meal she did not wait for me to tell her that I had indeed gotten enough. We enjoyed the noodles very much. My Alfredo sauce was creamy and cheesy and garlicky. I definitely enjoyed it. However, my wife's Alfredo sauce was not cheesy but was bland and broken. While we were still eating our entrees, our server came by to see if we wanted "desert or anything." I informed the server that we were still eating our entrees and were not ready for "dessert or anything". My pasta bowl was cleared while my wife and child were still eating their entrees. The empty plate that the bread was delivered on and the bread plates were not cleared until after we had finished our meal. Our server arrived check in hand asking again if we wanted "dessert or anything". What desserts we could have chosen from I do not know. We were not shown a dessert menu nor were we told of any specific dessert that you may have had available. Also, I saw more than one glass of white wine leave the bar being carried by the bowl rather than the stem. Since there were multiple oversights on the part of more than one employee, I strongly suspect that environment created by management is to blame for the poor standards of service. Though I cannot say that conclusively. I am assuming that someone at Noodles will recognize why the things I pointed out are not best practices. If not, please send me a reply and I may explain in greater detail. Or not depending on my mood. We will not recommend Noodles to our friends nor will we be likely to return. Sincerely, less
