What a wonderful change. We went to Cafe Enrico and loved the food and
service. They have a new chef and he actually came to our table and suggested
menu selections. The food (I had the baby back ribs) was the best I have
ever has. My friend has the smoked salmon and said that it was the best
that he has ever had. Great food and wonderful service. We will be back
very soon and bring my Mother.

Well it is August 2003 and things change. I feel the previous reviews
no longer describe Cafe Enrico. Arrived for an early dinner between
3-4pm. The first thing you notice is the nice setting you are in.
The menus Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are separate. The dinner
menu offers a wide variety Italian, Steak, Seafood and other
selections. We chose the Chicken
Oscar, Salmon in a dill cream sauce and Medallions of beef with
Bernaise served on fried eggplant. We alway rate our meals on
a scale of 1(BAD) -10(Excellent) and we walked away collectively
with 8.9. The service excellent, attentive and non intrusive.
Cricket our server was extremely sociable and pleasant, the
bus boys were right on top of everything. This has been one of the
most pleasing dinners in quite a while.

Not bad. A nice menu, but the food is just kind of run of the mill
Italian. Its situated nicely on the water, but the "water" has
a shmaltzy man made-fountain sort of feel. Thats the problem
with the Ambience of the restaurant too- its got a cheesy sort
of tract home newness to it. I made the mistake of going early and
the place was packed with Grey-haired tightwads, cashing in
on the earlybird special. Not to be a big spender type but I ordered
from the regular menu because nothing on the special one sounded
good. I had a spinach pasta with garlic shrimp which was OK, although
the portion was modest for an Italian restaurant.

One of my favorites for Italian food in Alameda. I like the location
on the lagoon at Harbor Bay Shopping Center and Chris' food is of
consistently good quality & flavor. The seafood pasta is
excellent. It can get a little busy in the evenings but lunches are
nice and relaxed.
We've had a couple of large parties at the restaurant that turned out
wonderfully and the Crespo's were extremely accomodating. The place
will hold up to 125. Guests will get a nice satisfying meal and,
believe me, no one will walk away hungry!

Best keep secret in the east bay! The food is great,
with a large varity to choose from. Pasta specials are traditional and
innovative. Service is good, but get there early becuase it's always busy.

Now serving lunch too. Dinners are larger versions of lunch. Lunch
menu does include burgers and low fat/cal choices. Owner/chef Cris
Crespo knows how to use his herbs to bring full flavor to his
dishes. The early bird specials keep the regular customers on the
early side here. Still one of the best choices for miles around. The
center provides easy parking and nice lagoon views before the sun goes
down.

The food here is decent, but not very memorable, standard
Italian fare. Athough I did have a very good seafood special
one evening. The dining room is bland and can be a bit
claustrophobic when it gets full. The service has been
uneven and it's easy to get "lost in the crowd" when it gets
busy. Still, this is one of the best Italian restaurants
I've found in Alameda or Bay Farm Island.

Best Italian food anywhere. Chris is the owner and chef - he really
cares. His wife Anna can be obnoxious as the hostess, but she spends
less time there. Great early bird specials - and they are crowded
then as a result. It's the only place we go for Calimari. The wait
staff is excellent.
