Nestled away on the banks of Bayou Grosse Tete in rural Pointe
Coupee Parish, Joe's is housed in a turn-of-the-century general
store. The restaurant collects a crowd, and there is often a wait.
This is an eatery patronized not only by the locals but by many
Baton Rougeans who travel more than 30 miles to get there. The
seafood gumbo is first rate. As an appetizer, the Shrimp Remoulade
is delicious and served with generous portions of shrimp. I would
suggest the crab cakes or the chicken breast stuffed with jambalaya.
The catfish Breaux Bridge is the whole fish, fried, and covered
in crawfish etouffe; and if you can eat it all, you're a better
man than I am, Gunga-Din. Lunch portions are quite healthy at
a very modest price. This is South Louisiana food at its best.

This is an ooutstanding obscure resturant with excellent fare.
Thank goodness a business associate told me of this resturant,
because I would have missed this wonderful experience!
We drove 2 hours out of our way for this lunch and it was worth the
trip
