Saso's is the best Japanese restaurant in the capital region.
I've had the best sushi I've ever eaten at Saso's and the
quality is always consistent. Chef Saso is very personable and is always
talking with those who sit at the bar while he prepares sushi. Price-wise,
it is one of the most expensive places, but you get quality you can't
get anywhere else. Lunches will run from $9-15, and most dinners are
$16-25. Sushi rolls are on average $5-6 per roll, and worth every penny.

The food here is of decent quality, but the owner (Saso) is too
rude to bother with. He doesn't seem interested in the concept
of customer satisfaction or in creating a pleasant eating environment.
His wife is very courteous and does her best to make up for his rudeness,
but the overall experience isn't worth it. Many in the Japanese
community have expressed similar dis-satisfaction to me.

Open from 12-2 for lunch and 5-10 for dinner. Friendly personal
service. Great food, wonderful sushi. If chef Saso recommends
something listen to him he knows his stuff. Great Japanese with
seating at the sushi bar. Not a cooking grill place. Food is made
in the kitchen or at the sushi bar. Small restaurant. Walls covered
with artwork created by Saso. His papercutting is only one of
his many talents.
