This is really a good Chinese and Japanese place. Overall this
has my favorite sushi in the area and my favorite Chinese food
as well. The dishes are slightly more vibrant than Shanghai in
Walnut Creek and are more homey (and larger portions and less
noisy) than P.F.Chang?s (also in WC). We live in WC, so it is a bit
of a drive to get there, but we have never regretted it. This place
is across from the Martinez theaters (which is how we stumbled
onto it). Great for a dinner and a movie. The service is spectacular
(never an empty water glass) and they can be really fast if you
ask them to (say, if your late for your movie). The hot-and-sour
soup, mu-shu, orange peel beef, walnut prawns, salt-and-pepper
prawns (not on menu but they will make them), are among the best
I have had anywhere. The atmosphere is very comfortable and pleasant,
the portions are very large, the veggies and sea-food are fresh
and not over cooked. Overall the best Chinese I have found in the
area. The sushi is good too (on a par with House of Sake in WC).

I did try their sushi, and it was very disappointing. Hugh rice ball with a little fish. Miso soup was just colored water.

Very unusual combination of Chinese food and Japanese shushi.
Quite possibly the best Chinese food in Contra Costa county
and at moderate prices. Complete dinners from $7.95 and $8.95.
Lunch buffet at $5.95 is excellent and the friday seafood
buffet at a slighly higher price is fantastic. For dinners
I have had the walnut chicken and walnut prawns and they were the
best I've had anywhere. I haven't tried the shushi, but
the shushi bar usually has quite a few customers.
