Superb bakery. Best in Berkeley (which is, as everyone knows, the Gourmet
Ghetto!) Their cakes are pricey, but worth every penny. They have a
blackberry chiffon cake to die for! And once in a while they make tiny
ginger palmiere cookies that are exquisite. Staff have always been
really friendly too.

Really great quality food in here, especially the pastries. If you
are passing and you are even slightly hungry you just have to pop in!

The price really depends on what you get there. The pastries and
desserts are fantastic and to die for. However, you do pay for
it.

$20-30 for a whole cake, which is about 7in. Although it is a little
bit expensive, it absolutely worths it! All ingredients are
fresh and to the right proportion, and you won't find excessive
whip cream to override the taste of the cake. Even a person who
doesn't like sweets such as me, I crave Marcia Masse's chiffon
and tiramisu!
The counter help has been very friendly and helpful. She really
took the time to explain me what ingredients they use in each cake
(at her best).
I am impressed that a small store such as Masse's can have such
wide selection of pastries.

Masse's Pastries is the best pastry shop in
Berkeley. Ingredients are fresh (chocolate is Swiss). The
counter help is attentive and you can order cakes, pastries,
etc....Go there!!

If your looking for great food and excellent service, this
restaurant is for you. Owner/Chef Joanna starts your meal
with a basket of her signature homemade bread and
melt-in-your-mouth biscuits. The menu is small but all
dishes are superb. Her thick cut pork chops with garlic
mashed potatoes is a winner. For dessert try the homemade
mint chip ice cream sandwich.
Parking is limited, but they do have about 6 parking spots
in the lot across the street.

The owner/pastry chef hails from the Ritz in SF. His
ingredients are fresh and the pastries wonderful. He
doesn't use any plastic decorations on his cakes. You
can also sit and have a pastry and a coffee. It's great!
