Would not recommend this place for dinning. The food is mediocre at best and the service is absolutely terrible. Went on a weeknight when the place was not that crowded and it took twenty minutes to get our first appetizer. The appetizer was cold and all of the food served that night was average. The bar is nice and the flavored vodkas are good but not good enough to dine here.

The food at infusion is solid, the flavors of each dish come together in a delightful melange of flavors. Increadibly buttery, velvety mussels with a high-note of lime, ahi tartare with piquant papadams, the sweetness of the porkchop counterbalanced by the surprisingly light beans lying underneath. As the evening wears on, certainly sampling the flavored vodka wares helps to create an exceedingly pleasant sensation in stomach and head.
However, the kitchen seems a bit slow, particularly on busy evenings when all the tables are full (even, surprisingly, on a tuesday evening). While the staff was polite and pleasant (with fanatically dedicated bus-boys), they nonetheless lost our entree order...a situation which could easily have been rectified by a comp, or having various things (like the drinks) disappear from the check, but neither occured. While this was likely an anomaly, nonetheless, I have some hesitation about going back again. While the food was good, the ambiance was somewhat lacking--the interior is reminiscent of a coffee-house: not particularly memorable or mood setting.
Infusion is a pleasant place to spend an evening with friends or multiple friends, but for the money, I think you're better off heading to Chow or Park Chow.

Nothing detracted. Service was casual and friendly, but polished. We started with vodkas: cucumber cool and delicious, pineapple frothy and smooth. We then moved on to a bottle of Sean Thackrey's Orion, a Syrah that is nearly impossible to find. The food was exceedingly good. The pork chop is the best I've had in the city and my wife's butterfish was divine. As we finished dining we were suprised by a jazz trio staring up on a loft stage we had missed. People care abou this place. Bravo!

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The infusions are cool and delicious-- it was explained that these drinks were not meant to be syrupy sweet-- the idea is to take the edge off the vodka and slightlyflavor it-- the bartender gave us a taste of each vodka before we chose one. Try the Vanilla Infusion. The service staff was extremely accomodating. The food was terrific and innovative without being to far out. (The Chef just recieved the S.F. Chronicle's "Rising Star of the Year" Award.) Try the Grilled Spicy Apple Barbecued Porkchop-- order it with the mashed roasted yams. We tried every seafood item on the menu (there's lot)-- each was delicious and cooked perfectly. The wine list features only California Wines from small vineyards. This was explained to us by the General Manager who served the wine with skill and flair. We had an excellent time

The food was creative and interesting. French Onion Soup was fine. Entree special of Sturgeon had an excellent corn fritter underneath and tasty mussels. The apple-cinnamon sauce on the sturgeon was tasty. The fish itself a little chewy and undercooked. White chocolate mousse dessert also interesting. Drink selection excellent: Widmer Hefeweizen and Guiness on tap. Obscure wines, but that's kind of fun. Great selection of aperitifs, with many ports and two Grappas on the list. Great restaurant for the sweet of tooth. And the atmosphere was comfortable. The music was *not* loud, and the band playing on the very-raised stage (nice touch) was acoustic. The service was efficient. The location has easy parking and right around the corner from South Beach Billiards. Overall, I was happy.

Their infused vodkas are weak and watery compared to those I make myself at home. We tried six or seven of them, and most were not drinkable. We asked 3 times that the recorded music be turned down, because we couldn't hear ourselves talk. It was turned down a fraction, then back up. We gave up. The food was uneven -- some dishes good, some mediocre. Then the 3-piece band started up and it was even LOUDER than the recorded music. We left, very unhappy with the experience. Don't go there if you need to have a conversation. They should sell small "tastes" of their vodkas, but don't, so you end up ordering way more than you need just to find one you like. Trendy, but not quality oriented.

The name comes form their trademark drink-vodkas infused with assorted fruits, veggis, beans etc. But the food definately stands on its own. The kitchen is very innovative, especially with their specials. My favorite is the guava empenadas. Live music nightly- accoustic (though it can be quite loud sometimes) rock and blues.
