I agree with Mitra Youssefi's review. It was our first time eating
Persian food and it was a delightful experience. We had 2 appetizers
to start, (don't remember the names of the plates) rice wrapped
in grape leaves which was tangy yet you taste a hint of cinnamon
and lamb stew on top of crunchy rice which had a great flavor. Though
the rice was a bit hard to chew, we manage to eat everything on top.
For entrees, we chose the combination plate and the meat just
melted in our mouths! The lamb/beef kabob was really delicious,
the beef kabob was tender, and the chicken tasted like it was marinated
with lemon or some citrus juice. All were very good. I also tried
the rack of lamb, but it wasn't as tender as I would like it (medium
done). For dessert, the rose water ice cream was yummy! Our waiter
was very attentive and gave excellent suggestions. I know in
the future, we'll go back again!

This is the best Persian place on the
Peninsula. If you have never eaten Iranian
(Persian) food, you must try Zeebah's. They
are located in downtown San Mateo. For your
first time you may want to try a combination
plate of kabobs, like chelo kabob (a mix of
beef and lamb)and one of the chicken kabobs.
Definitely ask for an egg yolk for your rice.
It will come to you raw, but I have never had
a problem eating their eggs. Just mix it up in
the rice and enjoy. On your second visit you
may want to try the different stews
available.Dessert is also wonderful here, like
the ice cream or the rice pudding, both made
with saffron and rose water. My family always
eats here when we have reunions, because it is
excellent, authentic Persian food.
