The food here is excellent, and the service is very good. This is a very nice, quiet place for a relaxing meal. My only possible complaint is that for those suffering from hypertension, it is very difficult to find anything that did not have soy-sauce in it.

It was a great restaurant but not it is gone and has been replaced by an Indian restaurant.

Atmosphere: Above average to Excellent Crowd: Varies Dress: Casual Food: Excellent Noise: Average to somewhat quiet Service: Above average to excellent Comments: I went here tonight with friends. Because of daylight savings time, it was bright outside and the light was shining in, which, though not their fault, does degrade the romantic atmosphere of a dark night. Our service was quite good today. We had sweet and sour pork, combination chow mein, and honey pecan prawns (all $10 range). In order of excellence: Chow mein, sweet and sour pork, prawns...chow mein is chow mein regardless of where you go (Though this was good chow mein); the sweet and sour pork was in a brown sauce (as opposed to the usual red sauce) and was very good; the prawns were, as with last time, exceptional. Also, I had the HoneyDew Melon Mousse for dessert which was presented well, fresh, and very good tasting (it was served cold in an almost gelatinous form with a dullop ... more

Atmosphere: Excellent Crowd: Varies Dress: Casual Food: Excellent Noise: Average to somewhat quiet Service: Above average to excellent Comments: We went here for dinner a few nights ago. The atmosphere was WONDERFUL for dinner...dimmed lights, everything all cleaned up, candles on the tables, etc. We had good service (they kept refilling our water and such) the entire night. We had Spring Rolls as appetizers and ordered a la carte entrees to share for dinner: Lemon chicken, Pork, Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chicken, and Pecan Prawns. Everything was EXCELLENT (well beyond anything you'll find at most Chinese restaurants) and the prawns were EXCEPTIONALLY good. I HIGHLY recommend Mei Long for EXCELLENT Chinese cuisine in a nice atmosphere with VERY reasonable prices.

Atmosphere: Above average to excellent Crowd: Somewhat upscale/wealthy Dress: Casual Food: Excellent to best in class Noise: Average to somewhat quiet Service: Average to above average Comments: I went here with a friend for lunch. Though they were packed, we were promptly seated. Our server quickly brought us drinks and though the servers practically left us alone for the rest of the meal, everything came rather quickly, so, no complaints. The atmosphere is basically a converted office building with a somewhat contemporary feel while maintaining a generalized level of elegance (Real tablecloths/napkins, nice white booths, limited elegant decor, etc.). The clientele seemed to be somewhat upscale (New BMWs, Mercedes Benz, etc., in the parking lot). The noise level was mostly average though near the end of our meal, the noise level dropped to an almost quiet level. On to the food... We ordered the appetizer, which was comprised of one shrimp (Breaded ... more

The best Chinese in the South Bay. Don't go expecting Mr. Chau..this is high end. We go at least once a week. Shanghai Shrimp and the Sea Bass are excellent.

This restraunt is a great deal for lunch. Don't lets its location in a strip mall fool you. The interior is pleasant and soothing. The lunch specials are in the $6 to $8 range. For a full service, high-end Chinese restaurant this is a great deal. The food was excellent, well-spiced and such. Highly recommended.

Chinese cuisine with a French twist. The appetizers are exquisite and the presentation ranks with the finest gourmet restaurants around. The martinis are nearly perfect (only mine are better). Perhaps the best part is the elegant, quiet, atmosphere that permits civilized conversation without straining your voice. We've been back several times and love showing it off to visiting friends and relatives.

It's easy to miss this place but don't! It is just south of Ethan Allan Furniture on El Camino between 85 and Bernardo. This is truly "Haute Cuisine"! My wife and I were introduced to Mei Long by our friends who enjoy fine French food. We have been there twice and always order four different dishes between us to sample. Everything is superb from the Appetizers to Dessert. Try the "Old Fashioned" cocktail. Yummy!!
