Wow! This place has great Western ambiance, great BBQ!! I love the owner. He could charm the boots right off a person. I love the way he gets a whole onion and whacks it with a big knife and puts half of it on the plates! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes BBQ.

This is the place for BBQ in the Monterey Bay Area. But like indicated by the other reviewers, it can be caught on an off time. Probably better later in the week when they are busier. I have had excellent BBQ, and the portions are huge.

Ambiance is good for Castroville. Portions are gigantic. Beef was dry, ham was dry, sausage was barbequed well but quality was poor, pork ribs were adequate to dry, sauce was nothing special. It really wasn't worth the trip for me, but I might have been there on a bad day.

The absolute best in BBQ. Slow cooked for hours for the best flavor Sawdust on the floor. Postcards on the wall The owner looks like Willie Nelson and he cuts your food by hand. Good size portions and a great atmosphere! what more could you ask for?
