Lalita's has become my favorite local Thai restaurant, and I
believe it is up there in the top 10 percent of Thai places in the
city. The food is delicious, the location is convenient, and
Lalita makes sure the service is always excellent.

This restaurant is ideal for those who are attending shows at
the Orpheum Theater and the Golden Gate Theater. It is located
within blocks of both, in an area that is in need of good places
to dine or have a pre-theater drink.
The tropical mural and fish pond add to an atmosphere that is warm
and relaxing. The service is friendly and efficient.
Having recently returned from Thailand I found the food to be
the most authentic in the city. While some may shy away from the
spicier dishes, the degree of tempature can be specified for
anything on the menu. The rack of lamb is outstanding, as is the
salmon hormok. For cocktails, you have to try the Wild Orchid
or try something from the extensive wine list.

"Distinctive Thai" says it all!
Four 1/2 stars.
Lalita is located near Civic Center, nicely tucked
behind much of the activity. A prime location for
a fulfilling dinner before an evening at the Symphony
or Opera.
The entrees here are skillfully prepared, brimming
with flavor. They present a daily special menu full
of vibrant dishes, ranging from curries to Thai seafood.
The regular menu speaks to all, providing choices from
health-consious light salads to substantive meat and
vegetable creations.
The atmosphere is elegant, but not showy. The decor
brings uniquely Thai warmth to the restaurant, even
setting out a cozy, romantic back area for that special
evening.
