Wow, if you're looking for authentic Mexican food, well
you've found your place. This great little hideway has been
around for years. Everything is made to order and is excellent.
It doesn't get any more authentic than this!

I have never had traditional Mexican food like this before. I
work around the block from this place and now eat here AT LEAST
twice a week. The Chipotle Steak is PERFECT in the Azteca Burrito.

The Azteca is famous, very good, and always busy. I had a few tremendous
tacos (brains/cesos and tongue/lengua) and an umistakenly
wonderful Coca-Cola made and bottled in Mexico. Gringoes just
don't know how to mix a great Coke.
However, Azteca's nowhere near as good as Cafe La Pachanga. More
people need to explore the off-the-beaten-path strip of Middlefield
Road between 3rd and 5th, where more great Mexican food will be
found. The Azteca doesn't have the quality of seafood or the rich
sauces, nor do the carnitas or chile rellenos compete.

Try the CARNITAS.. The best around. If your'e real hungry, go for the
Super Nachos w/ carnitas... Big enough for two people!
By far, the best Mexican Food in Redwood City, a place that has more
Mexican Restaurants per capita this side north of Mexico!!

If I lived near Redwood City, I would be there all the time.
Food is very good, portions BIG, service (as much as you can
get in a self-service place) smiling and friendly. Did I
mention the place is *cheap*? I like the atmosphere as well,
relaxed, Mexican music. In the summer I almost feel like
having lunch at a vacation spot. Most of the people you will
find there are Latinos, which is also a good sign. During warm
days you can eat outside on the patio.

This has become our favorite burrito place in Redwood
City. Seating is especially good in booths, and in the
summer time, on the outdoor patio. Try the burrito La
Azteca! This is a "wet" burrito, and is a monster. We
like their chile verde. Check out the specials on the
white boards for more adventurous selections. Good,
friendly service.
