Zuni has to be the most misunderstood restaurant in San Francisco.
You simply cannot go there expecting the same old same old. Every
lunch and every dinner they have a few dishes that are there always
and a few that might not be on the menu again for a year or two. You
have to accept that your choices will be limited. And if you're
adventurous and try something new you might not like it. But then
again, you might taste something you will remember for years
with great pleasure. Personally, I don't care for the chicken
(one-hour wait, so only order it if you have having first courses).
But many people love it.

Zuni's ingredients are always the best available. It's
almost the only place I'll order oysters because their selection
and handling practices can't be beat. The Caesar Salad is
100% authentic, complete with raw egg, anchovy bits, and lots
of garlic. The desserts are fantastic (try the espresso granita').
And the wi ...

I do like the Casear salad here and the food is good. Some people
do think it is overhyped. I think it is worth your time and money
to check it out.

We were generally dissapointed, but will go back to give it another
chance. The service was excellent, but tuna the waiter said would
be medium rare was very well done. The halibut was almost tasteless.
I don't know how it was possible to cut a piece of fish that thin.

Zuni is extremely over-rated, the level of service is
unacceptable and the quality of the is poor. This restaurant
has changed ownership and is not the same restaurant. Do
NOT recommend!!! Avoid or you will be sorry. A bad day at
a fast food restaurant is better than a good day at Zuni.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the City. It has a (generally)
hip clientele and great food. The service is on the snooty side.
You must have oysters at Zuni and, while some people thing the
Caesar Salad is overhyped, I think it's worth every penny.

Zuni is overrated. Overall, I did not enjoy the food. However,
in all fairness to Zuni, due to all the hype, I had very high expectations
and I can only speak of the food I tried. The ceasar salad was just
okay, definitely nothing to write home about. The chicken was
good and the bread salad was delicious. However, the meal would
have been better with some veggies. The salad with the pecans
and pomegranates was creative and delicious. I would go to Zuni's
again because the dish I really wanted "Ox Tails" was not available.
My husband enjoyed the food more than me but he wasn't jumping
for joy. If you don't have a chance to try their legendary chicken
and ceasar salad, don't worry you're not missing much.

IF you have never been to Zuni you must go, if you have been then
you need no review to go back again. You either love Zuni or you
can't remember it......I go back...

Zuni is higly overrated. I'm tempted to rate it as 1 star, but it's
not quite that bad. What you get for the high prices you pay is service
that is often more rude than pleasant, higly overpriced items,
and a view of the traffic on Market Street. I go there only if out
of town visitors insist and I can't convince them that we would
be better off at a good restaurant. This one is best left for the
tourists!

Nice wine list
Comfortable open layout
Well-prepared, good food, but insufficient vegetarian selection
