Come for the green hot sauce, stay for the food. This is my Peruvian friend's grandfather's favorite restaurant in the Bay Area, allegedly authentic. For appetizers the green mussels and the papas a la Huancainas (no one does potatoes better than the Peruvians) are my favorites. Entrees run large so bring an appetite. The dishes with onions and noodles are good, the arroz con pollo is good, but the hot sauce makes everything better. Parking is a nuisance, a commuter lot with no cut through the alley, but it's worth a trip if only for that salsa.

Between Brewster and Broadway on El Camino Tue-Sun 11:30 - 21:00 Mon Closed Typical entree $9. Weekday lunch special $4.50. Wide selection of seafood, also some chicken, beef, and two vegetarian dishes. Neighborhood restaurant, clean, simple decor, friendly service. Mostly Peruvian clientele when we went on Saturday. Camarones al Ajo were good - lots of garlic. So was Arroz con Pollo. While you're waiting they bring fresh bread, butter, a pepper/horseradish(?) sauce, and a hominy salsa. Inca Kola is an interesting if overly sweet alternative to Coca Cola.
