Not as good as top dog, but a good quick meal. I first ate here when
I worked in the are 25 years ago. Still a great quick lunch.

I'm from Detroit, so I know. Too bad PepsiCo has wrecked Vernor's
previous nose-bitingly gingery supercarbonated state, the reason
why Mom always gave it to us when we had colds.
Kasper's has fed me some of the best hot dogs I've eaten. Harry
Jr. has very competantly stepped into his father's shoes, slicing
casing tips off each dog and dissecting tomatoes &/or onions with
the same precision, care, and speed his father demonstrated. When
times are hard, financially or emotionally, and papers are due,
Kasper's takes care of me hard, good, and fast. I'm very pleased
to live within walking distance.

If you want a side of nostalgia along with a pretty good dog,
this is your place. The owner is friendly and the dogs (Schwarz's)
have thet nice snap whn you bite into them. Add some relish,
mustard and onions and wash it down with a Vernor's (if you're
from Detroit, you'll know).

Can't believe that Kasper's is not on the list. Must be the oldest
hot dog stand in Oakland. Hot Dogs only, $1.90, hand made by Harry
who will slice the tomatos and onions (if requested)in front of your
eyes. Potato chips and soft drinks available. Try the Sioux City
Cream Soda.
