Please don't tell your friends about this place! It will
ruin it for the locals! Quick service, GREAT seafood, worth the
drive to seaside! Much lower prices than the tourist traps that
crowd the peninsula, so it's loved and appreciated by locals
who eat there regularly. Great lunches, super yummy calamari,
and the chowder in a bread bowl is a huge hit.

The Fishwife is well known by locals as a great casual restaurant.
The menu offers several creative seafood dishes as well as pasta
and other entrees. It is a perfect spot for a quick lunchtime getaway
or a casual business lunch with co-workers.

Excellent fish and seafood in a functional building.
Small number of tables, but this location focuses on
takeout: You sit and wait while the cook to order in
a few minutes. A popular and busy place most of the
time (it was voted best fish restaurant in the
Monterey area in 1995). Seems to have a Caribbean
connections judging by the preparations they offer.
Owners also have a sitdown restaurant of the same
name in Pacific Grove.
