I've heard good things about the fried chicken, but nothing
else. After reading the reviews, I was very worried about going
here, but what the heck, the reviews are over 2 years old. Our first
experience with the hostess was no big deal. The bartender seemed
a bit mean, but he was extremely busy and when it slowed down, he
was extremely pleasant. The average age of the patrons and employees
is probably around 45. We had the fried chicken and clam chowder.
MMM, very good. The service was not top notch, but definately
nothing to complain about.

I plan to go back after a little with to try their steaks.

An Orinda institution. Famous for their fried chicken. Food
is similiar to what you get in the "old school" Italian restaurants
in SF - veal scallopine, eggplant parmesan, smothered chicken
fried steak. If you are in the mood for heavy style meat/potato
and Italian-influenced dishes, its the place for you. My father
loves it. Service is brusque, but efficient. Its always busy,
esp on weekends so make a reservation. And motif is high end "Western"
--- antlers and horseshoes, harkening back to Orinda's days
as a ranch/farm town.

THE BEST FOOD TO BE FOUND IN ORINDA. I can't tell you the palatable
ecstasy of their Tourenados of Beef. Fabulous salads and bread.
Great drinks. DEPLORABLE SERVICE. Be ready for rudeness. The
waitresses are usually too harried to be remotely courteous.
They are downright rude. And the hostesses act as if you are lucky
to be in their presence. HOWEVER. This restaraunt has not only
fabulous food, but a beautiful look. Check it out!!

We have eaten at the Casa Orinda for years and it is one of the best
restaurants in the area. Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere,
and long- time employees make for great service. This is a family
owned restaurant that always stays good. Not a mexican resaurant.

A very good neighborhood type restaurant. In spite of the name,
it is not a Mexican retaurant. I would categorize it as Italian
American. I do not hesitate to recommend it.

MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN EATING AT THE "CASA" FOR OVER 25
YEARS. IT HAS A TRACK RECORD OF MANY YEARS OF CONSISTENTLY
GOOD FOOD. EXCELLENT VEAL DISHES AND BY FAR THE BEST
FRIED CHICKEN IN THE VALLEY.
