Seto has great atmosphere and amazing sushi but the prices are steep. Mellow crowd and upscale. Good, quite restaurant for conversation.

Atmosphere: Above average to excellent Crowd: Varies Dress: Casual Food: Above average Noise: Average to somewhat quiet Service: Average Comments: We went here for dinner last night. The atmosphere is a converted office building designed to look like Japan (all the expected decor of a real Japanese restaurant). The servers are dressed in Japanese clothing and though they are very kind and courteous, the service was pretty slow (took a lot to get drink refills...waited a considerably long time for the check). The food was pretty good. I had sushi a la carte (Cucumber; Sea eel and cucumber; avocado and crab; and tuna and cucumber). All of the sushi was pretty good but nothing exceptional and the prices were a tad bit high (about $20 per person). Otherwise, everything was fine.

Seto Sushi offers good service and food at a reasonable price. This is our default sushi restaurant. We enjoy exploring different restaurants, but for those nights when we have companies or want to eat at a place that we know would like, we would come to Seto. We also like the fact that the restaurant has a Japanese owner. Who knows how to prepare Japanese food better than Japanese.

Seto is by far the best Japanese/Sushi restuarant in the South Bay. Their food is fresh and diverse. They have a monthly menu that offers items found at no other Japanese restuarants. The service, however, is sometimes lacking.

This is my favorite sushi bar. The sushi is cut very generously, and is very fresh. It is a bit pricey, so if you want something cheaper try Sushi Sam's Edomata, 3rd Ave, San Mateo. Back to this one, be sure to sit at the sushi bar and not at the tables. I've done the table thing a couple of times and the service could be more attentive. Also somehow everything tastes better at the bar. They remodeled the bar a few months ago and doubled the seating capacity.

This place can get pretty crowded at lunch time. The parking next to the building fills up, but they have some additional parking across the street. The food is good and they have some delicious bento boxes. They can accomodate larger groups too. The service is good.

Definitely the BEST sushi in the area. You can believe it when a Japanese like me says it is. The side orders are also what impressed me. They are the TRUE Japanese good stuff, not the look-a-likes that the cheap sushi places serves. If you can enjoy the taste of sour plum, try the sour plum flavored beef wrapped with SHISO(perilla) leaves. They're so tasty and artistic! Expensive, but worth the price. There's another sister restaurant on El Camino, but this one is better.

This is one of the best Sushi places I have been to in the area. The sushi pieces are big, and very fresh. They are fairly expensive ($3.50 to $6.00) but the large sizes more than make up for it. The sushi chefs (2) are friendly, and obliging if you want any special kinds of sushi. They have a heavy hand with wasabe, so if you don't like the stuff, you should ask them for sushi without it. I especially like the uni, and the toro here. The bar seats about 10 people, and is the best place to sit at in the restaraunt. Service at the tables is very sloooow, but they do keep you filled with tea and saki if you sit there. They have a whole range of Japanese food besides sushi, but I haven't tried anything else except for the yakitori (which is good).
