Little Bistro-syle restaurant that serves somewhat trendy, but good, well prepared and tasty food.

Highly recommended as a casual lunch spot on California Avenue in Palo Alto. They have a variety of inventive sandwiches that are quite tasty!

Cafe Brioche is one of my favorite restaurants in the peninsula - especially for brunch. Their omelets are not to be missed! Their daily dinner specials are not only delicious but generously portioned. Service is always friendly.

Lovely European-style Cafe on California Avenue with French-inspired Californian Cuisine. One of our standards for a leisurely brunch. Try the Pain Perdue with fruit or the sun-dried tomato biscuit with portobello mushrooms and a poached egg.

Disappointing place for dinner. The executive chef (or whoever does those tasks) is clearly the one to blame, because the recipes were poor and the ingredients were poor too; the cooking and service were adequate, however. The soup du jour was clam chowder with white beans, and the white beans were a long ways from being fresh; what's the point of having a special unless you get decent ingredients for it? Rabbit stew had too much rabbit and not enough vegetables; somebody (Elmer Fudd, maybe?) thought it funny to decorate the stew with carrots. The vegetarian polenta with cheese used too strong a cheese (maybe a Gorgonzola or light blue) which totally overwhelmed the flavors of the other vegetables and made eating it quite a chore. Not as bad food as Golden Wok a few doors down but that's not saying much.

This place isn't all that great. Food is acceptable, but not rememorable.

This is a very enjoyable little Bistro-syle restaurant that serves somewhat trendy, but good, well prepared and tasty food. Unfortunately, one thing I didn't find on the menu while I was there was Brioche.

Cute European Cafe in California!!! Light, bright atmosphere with great food. Although they serve lunch and dinner, I've only eaten lunch here---it's very, very good. Open Mon. thru Sat. for lunch and Wed. thru Sat. for dinner. The menu is very "California Yuppie"-- which is actually "good"! The chicken pesto sandwich on brioche bread is great. No reservations, so show up early for a seat---the place isn't very big. It's right next door to Joanie's Cafe---both are worth stopping by.
