For what it pretends to be, a simple French
country place, this is highly over rated. Small
town restaurants in France are good to terrific. This
is often poor -- tough and fatty meats, canned-sauce
like flavors. At best it is OK, but it is not often
its best.
Te newer location is nicer than the old, but
the food is not. They are rather self satisfied and
quite sure that they are excellent -- they are merely
average.

Violette is a very small French Bistro located at the
corner of Briarcliff and Clairmont Roads. The
restaurant only seats 30-40 guests, so make
reservations for Friday and Saturday nights!
The food is quite good, and inexpensive for French
Cuisine. Chicken dishes start at around $9, Pork and
Beef at around $11, with Veal, Lamb, and Fish
beginning at $14-15. All entrees are served on HUGE
plates with (2) vegetables and a starch. The Pork au
Poivre is my personal favorite.
Salads are large enough to be shared by two,
and deserts are out of this world! Try the desert
sampler platter sometime - its a small portion of
one of each!
This is one of the best values in French Cuisine in
Atlanta - The food is good (probably on its own rating
3 stars) and the value superb!
