One of the best restaurants for fish this side of the Atlantic. There's
1 in Florida too which is run by the original owner's (now deceased)
son.

Excellent fish and chips. I always get the "Once 'Round The
Kitchen" that comes with a variety of seafood. I recommend not
going at busy times because it seems like a long wait then to get a table.
I prefer the dining room section to the more casual area, not as crowded
feeling even if it is full. This restaurant has unfortunately gone
downhill somewhat since it is no longer in the hands of the original
owner and family but it is still well worth going. Take out is a great
option as well.

THE best fish and chips I have ever had in my life! My only regret is that
I don't get there often by any means at all. A tiny bit on the greasy
side but hey, it's fish 'n chips ... gotta have the grease.

I haven't changed my mind. This restaurant is probably the most
boring place in town, populated mostly by senior early birds because
it closes so early anyway. (All right, there's the old fashion
decoration, that almost looks campy.) And yet *this is* one of the best
fish and chip place there is. Fresh food, tasty fish, and nice employees.

In recent years I do think this restaurant has gone down hill a little,
especially in it's overall charm & warmth of a dining experience.
It is no longer a place where I'd enjoy dining in but take out is fine
by me. The food here has maintained it's excellent quality for
over 30 years that I can attest to anyway.

This hard to find place is well worth the effort. It is simple and just
plan great fish and chips. It is the best I've had since back home
(England). They just need to make mussy peas! lol.

This is still one of the best places for seafood in Peterborough although
I do think it has gone down hill a little bit. I prefer to get take out here
because although I do enjoy the very interesting decor I do not like
the seating arrangements.

I have been to this restaurant many times, the first time being
almost 30 years ago when I was a child. I don't go often so I
can't comment on the average entree price at this time but I do
know that even if the price seems a little high you must remember
it's seafood, which is expensive, but the price is always worth
it at Jeff Purvey's. The food is most delicious and the decor is
very unique, many fishing and marine artifacts decorate this
wellestablished restaurant. There is also a Jeff Purvey's in Florida,
yes, opened by the same people. Many famous people have dined
here including Jean Chretien.
They have take out, a casual dining section and a more formal one
that you don't have to feel/be overly formal in. The dessert cart
is to die for if you are a dessert fan. My favourite is the "Once
'Round The Kitchen" which I have been ordering everytime I go
there since childhood. Unfortunately, it seemed like a lot more
food when I was a kid....lol. It consists of pota ...
