Atmosphere: Above average to excellent
Crowd: Varies
Dress: Casual
Food: Above average to excellent
Noise: Average
Service: Above average to excellent
Comments: We went here today for lunch. The place was pretty deserted
(2:15pm). We received prompt and attentive service (Which was
good). We both had the Pasta Paella ($22). Everything tasted
fresh and properly prepared. The bar of value is a little marginal
($22) but the food was pretty good. The only somewhat tacky thing
was: most of the waiters were having lunch at a table near us during
our lunch (they really should wait until 3:00 or until all of the
lunch crowd are gone, since they close at 2:30).

Great place for lunch and dinner. It is a bit pricy, though. The
restaurant is always busy, so probably you want to make a reservation.

I like Birk's. This Santa Clara favorite has a lot going for it,
location, good food, a great bar and usually an interesting crowd
in attendance. Besides the normal SV business-types, Birk's
is also a favorite of some of the players from the San Francisco
(or is theat really Santa Clara) 49ers, who practice not too far
away. Yes, Birk's is loud, the crowd can get noisey, but that can
be part of the charm. For those partons who don't like their seats,
you can always ask to be reseated or do what many others have done,
vote with your feet. But all of that aside, Birk's has been a great
place to enjoy a good meal and possibly coupled with an adult beverage.
Give this place a chance, and you too might enjoy the experience...

Atmosphere: Excellent
Crowd: Varies
Dress: Casual
Food: Excellent
Noise: A bit loud
Service: Above average
Comments: Best way to describe Birk's...an upscale TGI Friday's.
I arrived and the very friendly host seated me (as I requested)
at a table and not at the counter. The room was bustling with people
and the open kitchen was firing away on the entrees. It was quite
loud in there but you could carry on a conversation without much
problem. The atmosphere was quite nice with genuine tablecloths
and napkins, windows, woodwork on the ceiling, pillars, etc.
My very friendly waiter (though the place was BUSY) promptly
brought me pretty good sourdough bread and butter and my diet
coke. He was pretty attentive, considering how busy they were.
I waited for a reasonable amount of time and then received the
Grilled Loin Of Lamb (26.50). Their entrees are a bit pricey ($15-$30)
but they are very good. My entree was cooked to perfection (medium)
with seasoned veggi ...

I just love Birk's. They are very consistent. The food and
service have always been top notch. I didn't notice it being
so loud as to diminish the dining experience. I usually go in
fairly casual dress and have been treated as well as the "suits".
Birk's is pricey but well worth it I think. I would rather
pay a little more and get a good meal with good atmosphere and
service. I find a lot of restaurants a roll of the dice, but
this one has always been good for me.

Birks restaurant has excellent food, excellent and efficient
service and it isn't so loud that you can't hear yourself or the
waiter/tress. It has a great atmosphere. I was thoroughly
impressed. I will frequent this restaurant again.

This is definately not a good place to take a client for lunch if
you need to discuss business. Between 11:30 and 1:30 it is very
loud in here and you can't here anything. After 1:30 or in the evening
it is very quiet and you can have a romantic dinner. If you don't
mind the noise or don't want to discuss business at lunch it is
a great place. The place is hopping but you better make reservations
for lunch or you may end eating at the bar or waiting a very long
time. It is one of the few places in the area that seems to take reservations.
The food is good and steaks are their specialty. The seafood and
bar selection is good too. The service is friendly and the decor
is good.

I have visited this restaurant twice. The first time, I was with
co-workers, recieved great food, great service and a great table.
The second time I brought out-of-town guests. I had reservations
and waited 40 minutes for a table right by the bathroom. I am 100%
convinced that the reason this happened was because my guests
were not what Birks would stereotypically consider your "Silicon
Valley type." I cannot stress enough how disgusted and embarrased
I was by the very obvious racist behavior by the restaurant employees.
Unless you enjoy spending your time and money with people who
have no problem exhibiting their racist attitudes, I would strongly
suggest you steer clear of this place.

This is the consumate Silicon Valley Meeting place powerhouse.
The place to be to make deals happen, schmooze and be schoomzed.
The food and service is first rate. Although noisy, I've never
found it to be so intrusive as to preclude enjoying the meal. The
garlic calamari is a wonderful appetizer to go with one of their
many microbrews, and they have a wonderfully diverse menu - try
the Salmon Caesar Salad for something different, or the Salmon
Club sandwich.

thoroughly enjoyed their lamb chops. My daughter had New York
Steak. Both were excellant and quite ample, more than most restaurants.
They have large 'spirits' list and wine list. Reservations available
online; www.birksrestaurant.com.
