If you want to be a wine expert or prefer a degree in tasting
the fruit of the vine rather than one from U.C. Berkeley, you
can start off by dinig here often. The food hereis quite
remarkable for the price you pay... It is also very nice and
convenient to have the shop right there so you can take home
a bottle of that great wine you jus tdeveloped a taste for.
Warning: it's best to say that you do not know much about
wine here, otherwise people will want to get into a lengthy
conversation with you about it.... If you want to talk about
wine then go ahead. It could be an all-day project though

Great place for a casual meal. The menu is short but the food is very
good and not overpriced. There is an extensive wine list and you
can order a flight of small amounts of several wines. I find it
a good place to learn about which wines go with which foods or just to
try new varietals. You can then wander through the store and take home
a bottle of something you really like. The servers also pour the wine and
most people eat at the bar. I find it an excellent place for dining alone, if
you like to talk about wine.
